ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING

For over 70 years One Great Hour of Sharing has provided Presbyterians a way to share God’s love with our neighbors in need around the world. This offering is the single, largest way Presbyterians  join with other Christians during the Lenten season to raise funds to help improve the lives of people in challenging situations such as lack of access to sustainable food sources, clean water, sanitation, education and opportunity.

The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing —  Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Presbyterian Hunger Program and Self-Development of People—all work in different ways to serve individual communities in need.  Each receives approximately 1/3 of funds collected.

PRESBYTERIAN DISASTER ASSISTANCE is the emergency and refugee program which enables our congregation and mission partners to care for communities affected by crisis and catastrophic events.

PRESBYTERIAN HUNGER PROGRAM works to alleviate hunger and eliminate its root causes in the United States and around the world.

SELF DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE funds projects in poor communities for literacy, advocacy for injustice, skills development and immigration/refugee issues.

From initial disaster response to ongoing community development these three programs fit together to provide people with safety, sustenance and hope.  In fact, thanks to your past gifts, OGHS currently supports programs in over 100 countries.  Your support truly makes a difference.

The Mission Committee hopes that you will give as you are able to this impactful offering.   Please drop off or mail in your check  made payable to Presbyterian Church of Easton with “One Great Hour of Sharing” on the memo line.   If we all do a little, it adds up to a lot.
