Day 1 Ash Wednesday
1 John 1:8-9
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and the beginning of our journey to the cross and Easter Sunday. If is often a day of recognizing our sin and need of our Savior. It is a time of repentance. Since these 40 Days of Prayer are aimed at our relationship with our community, we should include confessions of how we may have neglected or ignored our community. Take time to think of the things you and/or your church might need to confess.
Write out your thoughts, prayers, and actions that you have for today’s prayer topic. To view the entire 40 Days of Prayer Booklet, return to our home page and click on the “40 Days of Prayer” purple box.
